A CALL for people in Bridgwater to become wildlife response drivers has been made by a wildlife rescue charity.

Secret World Wildlife Rescue says there are not enough response drivers around Bridgwater to recover and transport wildlife back to its base, near Highbridge.

Charity founder Pauline Kidner said: “We rely on people who have found wildlife casualties to bring them in themselves once they are satisfied they have been truly abandoned but, if this isn’t possible, often we are required to send a response driver to collect the animal.”

She also appealed for donations to help with the cost of fuel for the charity’s two ambulances.
