A DOG breeder was “over the moon” after her beloved miniature bull terrier won best in breed at Crufts.
Three-year-old bitch Magrat wowed judges at the prestigious show on Thursday, beating 60 other dogs in her class.
It was Magrat’s second triumph at the event in three years.
Owner Sally Richardson, of Lindon Close, Bridgwater, said: “I am absolutely over the moon. Magrat is absolutely wonderful – dream to live with.”
Sally, 53, is a carer at a dementia care unit in North Somerset and says she sometimes takes Magrat to work with her, where she is extremely popular with the residents.
Sally added: “She also loves going with me to the McDonald’s drive-thru to get her chicken nuggets!”
Sally and partner Jill, 37, a British Gas engineer, are both passionate about bull terriers, and were named top breeders in the country in 2012 by the publication, Our Dogs.
Sally said: “I’ve been entering Crufts for years, mainly with bull terriers and now with miniature bull terriers.
“They are just wonderful little breeds – fantastic with adults and with children.”
