AN EIGHT-year-old girl from Brent Knoll has made it through to the regional finals of a national talent competition.

Gracie Wickens-Sweet was given a thumbs up by judges at the auditions for TeenStar, a new music competition by Future Music, producer of the Open Mic UK competition.

TeenStar searches for the UK’s best teen and pre-teen singer/songwriters, rappers and vocalists of all genres who perform either covers or original material.

Gracie nailed her audition with ‘Part of Your World’ from Disney’s The Little Mermaid.

She will now take part in a live regional head to head battle with the best talent in the area, before competing in the National Final at The O2 in London. Gracie said: "I’m really excited and I cannot wait until the big day when I will get to perform live on stage with all the other acts.”

The latter stages of the competition will provide acts with the opportunity to impress representatives from record labels, agencies and the entertainment industry.
