Plea for books at Purple Field Productions

ILMINSTER-BASED charity Purple Field Productions has put out an urgent call for books as it prepares for its spring fundraising book sale in April.

Following a successful sale last autumn, PFP’s stocks are low so they are calling on the local community to donate quality books for the sale due to take place in the Market Square on Friday, April 26, from 9am-3pm.

PFP Administrator Fiona Day said: “We need people to donate any books they have finished reading and to ask friends and relatives if they would like to make a contribution of books too.

“This is an excellent fundraiser for PFP and is well worth supporting.”

Anybody wishing to donate books should email peter.lansdown@virgin.net to arrange a convenient collection time.

PFP was set up by Elspeth Waldie in 2004 and works in developing countries making films in the local language for educational/humanitarian purposes.

The charity is about to trial a new pedal-powered cinema in Africa to enable its films to be shown in some of the remotest villages.
