Ilminster Arts Centre lines-up Easter fun for children

ILMINSTER Arts Centre has announced it will be hosting a new range of children’s workshops to take place over the Easter Holidays.

On Wednesday, April 3, come and explore ideas from your dreams – or nightmares in the Painting Dreams Workshop.

Create drawings then develop them into dreamy or nightmarish paintings. Materials are supplied but you may want to bring any drawings with you to help develop your ideas.

This workshop is led by Belinda Ireland and is for children aged seven and upwards, while children under eight must be accompanied by an adult). It takes place from 10am to 12pm. Cost of the workshop is £6.

On Monday, April 8, children can learn how to draw cartoons and make their own books in the Cartoon Workshop.

Professional illustrator James Cottell will lead the workshop is for children over eight only. The morning session takes place 9.30am to 12.30pm and the afternoon session from 1.30pm to 4.30pm. Cost of the workshop is £7.50 per session - all materials supplied.

On Tuesday, April 9, weave a willow garland in the Spring Garlands workshop. Carol Cooke will show children how to use leaves, flowers, and ribbons to make it into a springtime hanging or wear it as a spring head dress. The garlands can also be used to decorate your home or garden.

This workshop is for children age six upwards; children under eight must be accompanied by an adult). It takes place from 10am to midday and costs £6 - all materials supplied.
