Jury sworn in on Day 1 of Langport murder trial
A FATHER and son have gone on trial charged with the murder of dad-of-three Paul Rettalick in Huish Episcopi near Langport last year.
Mr Retallick was found dead at a property in Irish Way on the Old Kelways Estate on the evening of September 16. A post-mortem revealed the 35-year-old (pictured) had died from serious head injuries.
Father and son Michael McGinty, 55, of Peony Road, Langport, and Lee McGinty, 25, of no fixed address, both deny his murder between Saturday, September 15, and Monday, September 17.
The jury in the case was sworn in at Bristol Crown Court earlier and the trial is expected to begin in earnest tomorrow (Tuesday).
