THE manager of a new Co-op store in Norton Fitzwarren is looking forward to becoming part of village life.

The supermarket, at the old Taunton Cider site in Morse Road, opened this month and has already forged a strong relationship with the village hall.

Manager Jon Nobbs presented the village hall committee with £500 to spend on new blinds for the refurbished lounge.

Jon said: “The hall has been most helpful as a venue for us to recruit and train colleagues who will work at the new store.

“We’re pleased to contribute towards its refurbishment and look forward to being a central part of village life.”

The store, where you can buy your County Gazette, created 14 jobs. You can also get your County Gazette from McColl’s newsagents in Norton.
