St Andrew’s creates ‘anti-bullying’ raps
CHILDREN made rap music about bullying as part of an annual event at St Andrew's Junior School in Burnham.
Pupils experienced hard-hitting drama and music workshops as part of the school’s anti-bullying week, which this year focused on the themes of race equality and disability.
The children were visited by ‘Lubly the Clown’ and 'Pete the Poet' who led the drama workshops and used rap music to demonstrate the topic.
Deputy Head Teacher Ali Pook said: “This annual event forms part of St Andrew’s Anti Bullying policy and Equality Duty.
“The use of visitors to lead workshops raises the profile of bullying related issues in society.
“The children really enjoy the drama and rap and it helps them understand what bullying is and how to deal with it.”
Some pupils will present their rap to parents at the school’s weekly celebration assembly.
