Work club is just the job
12:00pm Monday 18th February 2013 in News
JOBHUNTERS are getting valuable help from a newly-launched work club in Chard.
Work Life at the Forefront Community Centre has already helped more than 30 people with their job search by assisting with|them with CV writing, setting-up e-mail addresses and registering them with relevant agencies.
Yeovil MP David Laws will open the club next month after the official launch was cancelled last month because of bad weather.
Ben Grave, of Work Life, said: “We first opened the doors in November and we are pleased with how things have gone so far – especially as we’ve helped 30 people with their search for employment.
“We open every Tuesday between 9.30am and 12.30pm and we have so far been kept very busy.
“If people are unemployed and actively seeking work, we want to help them in their search.
“People can come and use our computers to search for jobs on-line or write their CV.”
Mr Grave added said: “Volunteers will be on hand to help people through the process – along with plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits!”
The official launch on Friday, March 22, will see Work Life open from 11am to 1pm for visitors to drop in and see the services available.
