Firefighters rescue elderly woman trapped in her home
AN elderly woman who had fallen over in her home was rescued by firefighters.
The fire and rescue service was alerted by the woman's daughter who was concerned that she had not been in touch.
Crews who attended her home in St James Court, Taunton, at 10.10pm yesterday, heard her calling from inside her home, but the family were unable to get in because she had left the chain on the door.
Firefighters broke in and confirmed that the elderly lady was on the floor, trapped behind the door.
Paramedics attended to treat her.
