Talks at Dillington

DILLINGTON House will be hosting two special talks this weekend.

On Saturday, February 9, Adrian Evans will talk about his experience as Pageant Master for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee River Pageant.

While on Sunday, February 10, Bettany Hughes will share the secrets of the Divine Women of history she discovered whilst making her BBC series.

As well as being the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant Master Adrian Evans, is also Festival Director of The Mayor's Thames Festival, London's biggest free festival, as well as Festival Director of Coin Street Festival, a three-month season of music, crafts and popular arts which celebrate London's cultural diversity.

Historian, author and broadcaster Bettany Hughes, lectures throughout the world and has been invited to speak on subjects as diverse as Helen of Troy and the origins of female 'Sophia' to concepts of Time in the Islamic world.

Each talk will start at 2.30pm and tickets cost £12, which includes tea and cake.

Both events are nearly sold out, but there is still time to buy tickets by contacting the bookings office on 01460-258613 or visit www.dillington.com .
