DRIVERS are facing lengthy delays in Langport this morning after a 42 tonne lorry became stuck in the centre of the town.

Police say the heavy goods vehicle had a tyre blowout at around 9am on Bow Street, the main road through the centre of Langport, and is now partially blocking the narrow road.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We would advise drivers to avoid the area and add time to their journeys or find an alternative route."

Hgv vehicles can obtain a permit for Langport, and as regards to your comments on access how do you think Tesco and all the other shops there get resupplied? I don't think its by transit van.
