Chinese lantern plea from fire bosses
FIRE chiefs are appealing for people in Sedgemoor not to use lanterns ahead of this week’s Chinese New Year.
The Year of the Snake begins on Sunday (February 10) but Devon & Somerset Fire Service says Chinese lanterns, though not illegal, are a serious fire hazard.
