The Swan Inn in Wedmore wins best newcomer prize in Gastro Pub Awards
THE Swan Inn in Wedmore has picked up the best newcomer prize in the Gastro Pub of the Year Awards, run by industry publication, The Morning Advertiser.
Head chef Tom Blake, who was formerly a chef at the famed River Cottage, collected the award at a ceremony in Oxfordshire yesterday.
Cassia Stevens, marketing manager at The Swan, said: “We've been shortlisted for several other awards but this is the first time we've actually won.
“It's hugely exciting and a massive boost.
“People work really hard here and Tom is a fantastic chef.”
