CHILDREN from Westover Green School have benefitted from new board games thanks to a donation from a councillor.
Cllr Ann Bown, who heads the Bridgwater West division for Somerset County Council, used cash from her Health and Wellbeing budget to pay for a number of board games and books to keep the children entertained.
Volunteers from Westfield Church Group will visit the children and play the new games with them.
Cllr Bown said: “I wanted to help buy books and games for children who need them.
“The church group is able to offer them a one-to-one learning and social experience.”
She has also donated to other groups: trees, scooter racks, a dinghy, gym equipment and more.
