Drop-in clinic launched in Chard
4:00pm Saturday 19th January 2013 in News
A DROP-IN clinic has been launched at Chard Guildhall for people with mental illness.
The emotional outreach project funded by the Big Lottery Reaching Communities Fund has started in South Somerset.
The clinic, which took off last August and was officially launched in October, has been set up at the Guildhall information desk every Tuesday from 2pm to 5pm, providing information, signposting and emotional support.
A spokesman said: “Anyone and everyone is welcome to come along for a chat or if they’re looking for information.”
The project will also deliver well-being activities and life skills courses.
Support worker Kirsty Cridge is running the clinic with Julie Matthews, well-known locally as co-ordinator of the WATCH Project, on the information desk.
