Gooch Charitable Trust comes up trumps again!

TRUSTEES of the Gooch Charitable Trust have approved grants totalling|just over £23,000 to seven projects.

n Ilminster Swimming Club will receive a grant to pay for a senior coach qualifying course.

n The Friends of Greenfylde School was awarded a grant to improve its swimming pool heating system.

n The Ilminster Experience group was given backing to fund a marquee.

n The Bell Close Allotment Society was supported with cash towards buying secure gates.

n Harlequin Carnival Club was backed in its bid to replace its main towing vehicle.

n The StreetSpace youth group is being supported to fund, over the next three years, a volunteer to work in Ilminster one day a week.

n The Minster Church was again awarded a grant towards ongoing fabric repairs in 2013.

A spokesman for the trust said: “The trustees are very pleased that recent publicity about the Gooch Trust resulted in high quality applications for our consideration.

“We will be meeting again in March to consider new applications.”
