College hosts apprenticeship week
BRIDGWATER College is hosting drop-in sessions next week (January 21 to 25) at the Skills Centre in Angel Place Shopping Centre for people considering their next career move.
The sessions are aimed at young people and employers considering taking on an apprentice.
Monday will detail apprenticeships on Computing and IT, Tuesday will look at Hair and Beauty, followed by Customer Service, Hospitality, Accountancy and Retail on Wednesday and Thursday and Early Years practices on Friday.
Each day a college advisor will offer help and guidance from 9am to 5pm on all apprenticeships.
A spokesman for the college said: “More and more people are turning to an apprenticeship as a way of learning practical skills and gaining recognised qualifications whilst earning a salary, without getting into debt.
“An apprenticeship is not just for 16 to 18-year-olds, there are opportunities for people aged 19+ too and, in some cases, there are special incentives for employers taking on an apprentice for the first time.”
Roger Smith, Angel Place centre manager added: “We hope people come and take advantage of this great event and find out what opportunities are available to them.”
