Retirement homes plan for former Wellington Medical Centre gets green light

The former Wellington Medical Centre has been empty since staff moved to the Mantle Street base in 2009.
AN eyesore site in Wellington could be turned into retirement homes after an eagerly-awaited development got the go-ahead.
McCarthy and Stone got the green light to turn the derelict former Wellington Medical Centre at Bulford into 42 later living apartments by Taunton Deane's Planning Committee last night (January 9).
The application was expected to get refused but was granted subject to developers contributing to affordable housing and recreation facilities.
