First bus donates to BIBIC

THE SON of a bus driver from Bridgwater has been given a donation of £650 towards extra care for his learning problems.
Five-year-old Jamie Carter has learning and behavioural problems and receives £190 assessments at BIBIC’s Knowle Hall outreach centre for his yet undiagnosed condition.
His father, Ian Carter, from Polden Street, sought help through First bus’ Charity and Sponsorship Committee.
The donation will pay for BIBIC assessments, some special listening CDs for children with sensitive hearing and for Jamie to be taken swimming with the charity.
Ian, 44, who has been a bus driver in the town for 16 years, said: “I’m thrilled for Jamie to have received this much needed donation from First.
“I would like to thank them and all of my colleagues from the company, in particular those from Taunton and Bridgwater.
“I know this money and treatment will go towards creating a better life for Jamie.
He thanked BIBIC’s therapists, who have been helping Jamie for the last two years.
Carol Groves, general manager for First Bristol, Somerset and Avon, said: “I am delighted we can show our support for Ian and his family through our Charity and Sponsorship Committee.
“I wish them all the best and hope Jamie gains great benefit from his time with BIBIC.”
