FAMILY and friends of crash victim Liam Taylor will be saying their final farewells to the popular 19-year-old this weekend.

The funeral of Liam, who died at Frenchay Hospital in Bristol on December 18 as a result of the injuries he sustained in a crash in Station Road, Ilminster, the previous evening, will be held at midday at St Mary’s Church in Chard this Saturday (Jan 5).

His parents, Chris and Gail, brother Grant and sisters Toni and Della have been left devastated at his death, but have taken great comfort for the hundreds of messages of sympathy they have received from Liam’s friends.

Liam, of Chard, a former student of Holyrood Academy, was a talented motocross rider and he had only recently signed for the Taunton-based Oakleaf Kawaski club.

It is expected that his team-mates will be among the large congregation of mourners at the funeral service on Saturday.

Donations in Liam’s memory will go to the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance and the ACU Motocross Association.
