THE audience was treated to a wonderful concert at St Mary’s Church in Ashill by the Artesian Duo with Canon John Simpson on the church organ.

The duo were Rosalind Ventris, described as one of the finest viola players of her generation, and Ilyoung Chae, RIGHT, a 25-year-old Korean violinist who studied at the Yehudi Menuhin School, among others, and played with the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

The audience was treated to music by Bach, Eccles, Laszlo Weiner, Vitali, Ysaye, Mozart and Handel/Halvorsen, and the church acoustics helped to create a fantastic sound.
