THE AMOUNT of people reporting they have fallen victim to doorstep crime has doubled during the past two years, according to new figures.

Somerset County Council’s trading standards team has reported increases in complaints from residents about rogue traders.

The news comes on the back of the Trading Standards Institute’s annual ‘National Consumer Week’, which encourages people to say no to rogue traders.

Call the Citizens Advice consumer service on 08454 04 05 06 – anyone feeling threatened should call the police on 999.

Maybe the mystery object was really a rogue trader who was exposed for what he/she was, then dispatched in a suitable manner... :-)
