Burnham and Highbridge poppy appeal saved
THE Royal British Legion has thanked Weekly News readers for coming to the rescue of the Burnham and Highbridge area poppy appeal.
We reported how there were only six people in the area organising collections.
Sue Potepa, Somerset fundraiser for the Legion, said our story had prompted a rush of offers of help, and there are now enough volunteers to run the collections.
