Advice for working drivers from Somerset Road Safety (From This is The West Country)

Another byzantine way that SCC worker's can justify there job's.
If SCC are serious about road safety why is it that our road's are being enveloped by the hedge's and over hanging tree's. All over Somerset van's and truck's are having to drive in the middle of the road to avoid damaging there mirror's and bodywork. Could someone from SCC please answer these
charge's or are they all hidding away trying to look busy.

A good start would be to make staff pull over when on a mobile phone they think it saves time to describe a problem they had with their little laptop the night before or days before. It doesn't save anything as they break up constantly so you cannot hear them, you cannot exactly ask them to click on anything or try anything and the number of times I hear hang on I just need to change gear. Also make sure they are not smoking whilst driving and trying to save their precious documents at the same time, or eating an apple whilst trying to talk on a mobile. Yes I hear it daily and I don't have anything to do with the Council. The best work policy out there doesn't stop these workers or morons who think the car is just a mobile working office and the rest of us who support them have to put up with it. Hearing about 3 words out of 5 missing and shouting just so we can be heard as the noise of the radio is so loud, tunnels so they are gone and come back, conversations in the back of the car and even dropping the kids off to school. I only wish they could hear what it is like to have to be on the other end of the line and realise what they sound like and you can tell they have no sense of what is happening on the road ahead. Including the idiots who say the traffic is moving half way through and can you wait until the next set of lights coming up. Shocking isn't the word for it take the company car away.
