Rotary party visits France

MUCH of the good work done by Ilminster Rotary Club is carried out in the area but the club is also part of a worldwide fellowship of clubs and maintains a close tie with the Rotary Club of Mamers et Pays Saosnois in France.
Ten members of the Ilminster club visited its ‘twin’ and were treated to a tour of a 19th Century spa town and a chateau, as well as excellent hospitality and entertainment.
A club spokesman said: “The relationship between our two clubs goes back nearly 40 years. The clubs are hoping to join together in an international charitable venture in the near future and the French Rotarians will be coming to Somerset some time in 2013.”
