Ilminster looks for someone to switch on the lights
3:00pm Tuesday 23rd October 2012 in News
THE Ilminster Victorian and Lights Committee is on the lookout for someone to switch on the town’s festive illuminations this year.
The annual Victorian Night takes place on Friday, November 23, with the switch-on at 7pm.
Organisers want to hear from people who would like the honour of switching on the lights to get the countdown to Christmas underway.
The committee’s Clinton Bonner said they will be holding a draw with tickets available for a donation of 50p each.
“All proceeds will go into committee funds,” he said, “so why not have a go for yourself, relative or friend as there’s no age restriction.”
Tickets are available in the town at Teetree, Bonners the Butchers, Harrimans, Cottage Flowers, Barclays Bank and Remains to be Seen.
The winner will be notified on November 19.
