POLICE are calling for the public’s help in tackling car vandalism in a busy street leading from Chard town centre.

Combe Street, which comes out at the junction of Fore Street and High Street, is a well-used pedestrian walkway to and from town and late-night revellers are persistently vandalising vehicles parked there.

PCSO Caoimhe Hickey told the News: “We would ask anyone who sees anything to let us know.

“There have been ongoing problems in that area with vandalism but we need the public’s help in catching the offenders.”

Some car owners in Combe Street have installed CCTV cameras outside their homes to try and deter the vandals.
