Lottery "winner" fails to collect nearly £7m
TIME has run out for the person in Devon who bought a winning ticket on the EuroMillions Lottery worth £6,989,367.
The prize was won in the draw in September last year but no-one came forward to collect the prize before this week's six-month deadline. The cash will now be donated to the lottery's Good Causes fund.
The unclaimed prize has been earning interest at a rate of £1,063 a day - with the full 180-days' worth of interest in the region of £191,298.
That money, together with the £6.9m will be added to the £20bn already raised for the Good Causes through lottery ticket sales since 1994.
