Polkaworks folk line-up at Halsway Manor

First published in Somerset

GLAM folk band PolkaWorks will be making a star appearance at Halsway Manor later this month.

PolkaWorks is a wonderful Ceilidh band with a folk-star line-up of Sue Harris, Jeannie Harris, Katie Howson, Fi Fraser, Nina Hansell and Gareth Kiddier with dance caller Sheena Masson.

In 2008, Gareth Kiddier put a band together for an impromptu Saturday night concert.

He went for the glamour angle and asked five of the most talented, female traditional dance musicians in England to join.

The result was so much fun they now play for English dances as PolkaWorks all over the UK.

They will perform at Halsway Manor, National Centre for the Folk Arts, in Crowcombe, on Saturday, October 27, from 8pm to 11pm.

Tickets, at £10 and £4 for under-16s, are available from 01984-618274.
