BRIDGWATER Choral Society is preparing a wide-ranging programme of 20th century music for your enjoyment at its next concert on Saturday, May 6.

The choral society is delighted to welcome back the superb young tenor soloist, Dominick Felix, to sing in its forthcoming concert.

Dominick made a splash when he sang with the society in its most recent production of Handel’s Messiah.

The varied programme will feature the work of three twenti- eth century composers – Britten, Bliss and Holst.

Sir Arthur Bliss (1891-1975) was a composer and conductor whose Pastoral was inspired by a trip to the classical landscape of Sicily in the late 1920s.

Another piece will include St Nicholas composed by Benjamin Britten (1913-1976).

Cooper will conduct the choir and full professional orchestra.

The Taunton Preparatory School Choir will join for the Britten.

Please note due to ongoing restoration work the concert will not be at St Mary’s Church as previ- ously advertised.

Instead the concert will be held at the Bridgwater Baptist Church which is also in St Mary Street.

Tickets cost £10 and will be available on the door or via bridgwaterchoral.org
