WHAT do Tony Blair and the wildlife of Lewisham have in common?

It has to be another laugh-a-minute gig from the madcap comedian, Sara Pascoe.

Sara is a familiar face on TV shows such as Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week, Have I Got News for You? QI and Room 101.

Her current tour, Animal, features what Sara claims are "completely true stories about Tony Blair, Oedipus Rex and the wildlife of Lewisham."

There may also be several stories about Jason Donovan and Henry the Hoover that Sara admits might not be entirely true, but they are still funny anyway.

Her starting point is that while all animals evolved, only humans evolved to the point of knowing that they actually evolved.

This troubling and confusing position is explored in a creative and honest way in a show about empathy and its limitations.

Sara also loves talking about veganism and breast implants but not necessarily in that order. She grew up in Essex where it is claimed one in five women have a boob job.

"People are super-relaxed about it. Like repainting a house or something, these operations are viewed as a decorative tweak," smiles Sara.

"When a young lady from Basildon or Romford announces, 'I’m getting them done,' she is greeted with reactions ranging from nonchalance to congratulations."
