PUXTON Park’s award winning farm shop is gearing up to stage a cheese and cider weekend.

The popular family venue produces delicious Gorwydd Caerphilly Cheese, using milk from its pedigree Holstein cows.

The traditional handmade cheese is matured for two months to develop its depth of flavour and a slightly crumbly and creamy texture.

To give visitors a chance to taste the Gorwydd Caerphilly, Puxton is holding a cheese and cider weekend on May 28 and 29.

The event will include tastings from Sheppy’s, Thatchers and Norcotts Cider producers, and Puxton’s new Proper Job sausages, offering cider, sage and apple flavours.

Retail and catering Manager Kay Payne, said: “As well as a local farmshop, we are a working farm producing cheese, meat and ice cream, which we sell on site.

“This weekend will offer a range of tastings of cheese, cider and sausages to be enjoyed by our visitors, along with Ploughman’s Specials in Meadows Restaurant.”
