Eat, drink and help British Flag to keep flying their carnival flag. That’s the plan behind the second Bridgwater Food and Drink Festival said the carnival club organisers.

BBC Radio Somerset’s Emma Britton will open the event with sponsors Pynes butchers of North Petherton and Magnox helping with sponsorship. There will be cooking demos in the town as well as samples of nosh and drink for the curious to try out.

Based at the British Flag pub the club are staging the festival on Saturday, February 20, to raise cash for their club. A new shed and new facilities are needed and these things don’t fall out of the sky for nothing said the organisers.

“It will be held in the town hall and in the Charter Hall, and it’s going to be at the back end of Angel Place car park,” said Paul Russell of the club, “they’ve been very helpful and helped push the event. There’s 42 stalls with a few craft stalls as well, and there’s live entertainment which we’re building on. Face painting will be Angel Place and there’s a chap doing balloon modelling. Last year it went well, we put it together in three months with 26 stalls.”
