SHE's a little French, a little English and for one night only, a little Somerset.

Flossie Malavialle gave up her teaching job in the south of France to come to England to sing. Many years on, she has recorded 11 albums with two more in production.

On Thursday, November 26, you can hear Flossie's unique vocals and guitar playing at the EMN Hall at Monksilver near Williton.

Flossie ‘s repertoire includes French classics by Edith Piaf and Jacques Brel as well as a mixture of other styles such as jazz, blues and folk. Numbers by The Beatles, Bonnie Raitt, Kris Kristofferson, Janis Joplin, Eva Cassidy and the McGarrigle Sisters all feature in her show list.

She also loves songs full of energy or, as she calls them herself, full of "vavavoum" such as Willie Nelson's "On the road again", Kris Kristofferson's "Bobby McGee" (Janis Joplin way)...

Her songs are interspersed with humorous stories and Flossie’s performance never fails to draw audiences in, leaving them with a smile on their faces and a song in their heads.

Concert starts at 7.45pm. Tickets £8 from Toucan Wholefoods Minehead 01643 706101, Taunton Visitor Centre 01823 340470, Wiveliscombe Post Office 01984 623308, and online at www.wegottickets.com.
