Who Stole the Mysterious Moonstone?
The Taunton Thespians are delighted to announce a south west premiere for their November 2015 Brewhouse production: a stunning adaptation of Wilkie Collin’s classic gothic detective story The Moonstone by Eastenders and Holby City writer, Nick Warburton.
Young Rachel Verinder is surprised and delighted to receive a stunning large yellow diamond as a twenty first birthday present from her roguish uncle. But other people covert the mysterious stone and when it is stolen from her bedroom, suspicion falls on the whole household and visitors. Victorian Detective Cuff has to use all his ingenuity to find the truth.
Award winning director Mike Linham says: “Many will perhaps have read or heard of “The Moonstone” by Wilkie Collins – said to have been the very first Detective Novel written when it was published in 1868. I came across an adaptation by Nick Warburton and I feel it is a really fascinating piece of drama, thrilling, fast moving, suspenseful and funny as the story is unfolds through the eyes of the household servants."
The Moonstone will be performed at the Brewhouse Theatre, Taunton 17 – 21st November 2015 at 7.30pm nightly. Tickets £14 full price, £5 concessions*
And there will be at Saturday matinée 2.30pm, tickets £10 and £5 concessions.
