THE Tinderbox was the very first story published by Hans Christian Anderson nearly two hundred years ago.

It tells the story of a beautiful princess, a soldier and three mysterious dogs.

Award winning AsOne theatre company presents a stunning production of this fable, which is often claimed to have been inspired by Aladdin.

Following their fabulous production PASSION last autumn, AsOne theatre's latest offering is written by Jacqueline Avery with music by Joe Butcher

This new play gives a classic Hans Christian Andersen tale an illuminating Jurassic Coast twist, and AsOne AsCend ensemble add heart and soul dusted with humour.

Tinderbox is an audio-visual treat to thrill all the family. Powerful physical storytelling; puppetry; shadow play and animated imagery - accompanied by live, original music and song - combine to create a spell-binding experience for all ages.

The Tinderbox – a box to kindle a flame – has comparisons with Aladdin's magic lamp, and add on a witch and the dogs with swirling eyes, and you have all the ingredients of a spell-bounding play.
