IF you've always wanted to try riding or feel its time to get back in the saddle, then head to Cannington Equestrian Centre last this month.

The centre, part of Bridgwater College, is offering a free taster session to people of all ages as part of a UK wide campaign called Give Horses a Go Day.

You don’t need lots of expensive kit, just sensible trousers and a pair of boots or shoes with a small heel. British Equestrian Federation’s (BEF) Hoof website www.hoofride.co.uk, contains tips on what to wear and what to expect.

The sessions at Cannington Equestrian Centre takes place on Sunday, September 20, from 10am – 2pm and will include pony rides, horse riding, meeting the resident horses, grooming and handling. Avon and Somerset’s rural crime team will be providing free tack marking, plus there will be a raffle and much more.

Riders who get the bug and book a riding lesson as a result of the day will be able to take home a free pair of riding jodhpurs for free.
