IT'S Friday night, it's been a tough week and the boss has been nipping your ear.

So, what better way to let off some steam - and enjoy some awesome music - than going to a colourful, foot-stomping gig with CoCo and the Butterfields?

This eclectic group is a great curtain raiser to the 10th Burnham Folkfest which runs this week across various venues from today (Thursday) until Sunday.

CoCo and the Butterfields express all the fun and vibrance of a village folk fair, throwing in powerful vocals and a beatbox to deliver catchy songs resonating in a stadium-filling pop and urban rap vibe.

A colourful, energetic and crowd-stamping act to be reckoned with, and pioneers of a newly found musical genre, ‘Fip Fok’, CoCo and the Butterfields began life as a group of five buskers who have risen from the streets to concert halls around the world.

The band say they are on a mission to bring people from all backgrounds together, to have a good time. With over half a million YouTube hits, they are often referred to as the UK’s best unsigned act.

From sharing a stage with internationally renowned artists such as Bastille, Wheatus, Seasick Steve and The Pogues, CoCo and the Butterfields, are equally at home playing on their own.

The Princess Theatre, Burnham. Friday, September 4, 7:30 pm. Tickets: Standard £10/Concessions £9 Mostly standing with limited seating in the hall.

On Saturday September 5 from 1pm various artists will provide free music in the Princess and around the town.
