IF you've always wanted to ride off into the sunset then trot on down to the Cannington Equestrian Centre later this month.

The centre, which is part of Bridgwater College is taking part in the national Give Horses a Go Day on Sunday, September 20, offering a free taster session to anyone thinking of taking up riding or getting back in the saddle.

You don’t need lots of expensive kit, just sensible trousers and a pair of boots or shoes with a small heel. British Equestrian Federation’s (BEF) Hoof website www.hoofride.co.uk, contains tips on what to wear and what to expect on the day.

The sessions at Cannington Equestrian Centre run from 10am – 2pm and will include pony rides, horse riding, meeting the centre’s horses, grooming and handling.

Avon and Somerset’s rural crime team will provide free tack marking. Riders who get the bug and book a riding lesson on the day will be given a free pair of riding jodhpurs.
