THEY don't come often - or often enough - to Somerset, so tickets for the Russian State Opera's performance of La Traviata are sure to go quickly.
Verdi’s opera is based on a play adapted from the novel by Alexandre Dumas which tells the tale of a high society courtesan, Violetta, who sacrifices all for the man she loves. Featuring an impressive cast with a large live Orchestra with over 30 musicians, La Traviata is performed in its original language but with English subtitles.
A tragic and resonant tale of society and morality, La Traviata combines compelling characters with hugely powerful, moving and instantly recognisable melodies
