THE Poozies are returning to South Petherton’ David Hall this month, including a former BBC singing show contestant.
They are an all-female four-piece folk band featuring Sally Barker, Mary Macmaster, Eilidh Shaw and Mairearad Green.
With their energetic vocals and guitar, faultless fiddle playing, delicately dexterous accordion and mellow harp, this inspirational band of women have been delighting audiences in Britain and worldwide for over 20 years.
Their close vocal harmonies intensify the songs drawn both from the rich vein of Gaelic culture and other genres.
David Hall music manager Pete Wheeler said: “One of the truly great names in traditional music, The Poozies return to us after a very long absence.
“I’m especially pleased that Sally Barker is back after her success as a finalist in The Voice.
“This band is true quality; an opportunity not to be missed.”
The Poozies will perform on Sunday, March 29 at 7.30pm and tickets are £18.
