THIS February, schoolchildren from four South Somerset schools will be taking part in an exciting exhibition at Ilminster Arts Centre.

The exhibition – the fourth of its kind to be held at the centre – sees pupils from Chard School, Greenfylde School and Swanmead School in Ilminster, and Crewkerne’s Wadham School showcasing their latest artwork in Ilminster’s only gallery space.

Always popular with visitors, the exhibition promises a huge variety of styles, subject matter and inspiration for everyone to enjoy.

The second week of the exhibition coincides with half-term, so family and friends can all go along and admire the creative talent being nurtured in local schools.

The exhibition offers the students the chance to exhibit in a professional gallery environment and present their work in the public domain.

The show also presents an exciting opportunity for the public to see the high standard of art being produced by young people in this part of Somerset.

Visitors to the exhibition will be able to see at first hand how the new generation of artists express themselves visually and, perhaps, spot some stars of the future.

The exhibition began on Monday and will continue until Saturday, February 21 – admission is free.
