TICKETS are selling fast for an acclaimed folk trio’s performance in Clayhidon next week.
Lady Maisery, aka Hannah James, Hazel Askew and Rowan Rheingans, were nominated for the 'Horizon' BBC Folk Award 2012 and for 'Best Debut' at the Spiral Awards 2012.
Whether singing unaccompanied, or with backing on accordion, harp and fiddle, they offer rich harmonies and sumptuous clashes.
The trio burst onto the scene with the release of their debut album, ‘Weave and Spin’, in summer 2011. This received critical acclaim and was declared an ‘Album of the Week’ by The Independent.
Their gig, promoted by Villages in Action, with backing from Devon County Council and Arts Council England, is at the parish hall, starting at 7.30pm.
Tickets are £8 (concessions £6). To book a seat and supper (£3) call 01823-681047 or email carouselle@btinternet.com
