JACK and the Beanstalk, at The Octagon Theatre, Yeovil, is to have a performances interpreted in British Sign Language for the Deaf – at 2pm on Friday, January 2.

The service is being run on a trial basis, sponsored by South Somerset District Council, which owns and runs the Octagon.

BSL interpretation is being supplied by Definite Interpreters, who have worked with the cast and theatre for several months to achieve an effective script.

A block of seats has been allocated close to where the BSL interpreter will stand.

Tickets for the performances are on sale at the Box Office in person or by phone on 01935-422884.

Customers needing the support of a carer to enable them to attend the theatre will be able to have a free ticket for the carer, with a paid ticket.

“I hope this trial proves a success with customers, promoting equal access for all.”
