THE Phoebe Rees awards ceremony was rewarding for Ilminster Entertainments Society with four members winning awards.
Daniel Fowler, 11, received the award for Best Actor under 16 for his role as Kevin in The Boy Who Fell Into a Book, and Kayleigh Storey scooped Best Properties for the same play.
Yvonne McGuinness and Paula Denning won joint Best Actresses for their role as mother and daughter M’lynn and Shelby in Steel Magnolias. A record 145 people were at the Phoebe Rees awards ceremony, held, as last year, at the Shrubbery Hotel in Ilminster.
During the ceremony, new moderator Clive Wooldridge spoke about the value of nominations and how close the results often are – and that everyone who had been nominated was a winner.
