BUDDING musicians in South Petherton can benefit from a musical improvisation workshop coming to The David Hall.

Musicians will have the chance to get together with others and learn to improvise starting on Tuesday, October 14.

Building on Improvisation is a five-week course that enables participants to expand on their existing experience in improvisation.

Working with a variety of established song forms, Blues, II V I and rhythm changes, participants are able to explore techniques and strategies for soloing.

Participants need some previous experience in improvisation and the ability to easily find notes on their instruments.

They can learn the skills necessary to improvise over blues, jazz and popular music chord changes, taught by a practising musician with more than 35 years of experience.

Sessions run from 7.30-9pm on Tuesday with a break for a drink, a slice of cake and the chance to have a chat.
