THE KDS Fresh Ideas Stage at this year’s Burnham Food & Drink Festival once again promises to bring a top line-up of demo chefs to the town.
Festival organisers are taking inspiration from the game season for a wild harvest with four great cooking demos on the stage from noon and then every hour, at the Baptist Church, College Street.
First up is Hannah Bird, a 15-year-old chef who recently won the Young Chefs Cooking Competition at The Kings of Wessex Academy. This will be her first public cooking demo and the youngster is looking forward to cooking with game.
Kieran Lenihan, head chef from Farrells Restaurants, and Chris Westgate, the person behind multi award-winning Heavenly Hedgerows, will be next on stage at 1pm cooking a selection of delicious dishes before Olly Jackson, of Langford Fivehead, appears at 2pm.
Last up at 3pm is Hideki Koike. Born in Tochigi, Japan, Hideki will be showing visitors how to mix the very British tradition of game with his skills as a Japanese chef.
