DISCOVER the mysteries of a Buddhist Monastery as eight Tibetan Monks from Tashi Lhunpo bring a moving and inspirational insight into the world of sacred music and monastic dance to Bridgwater Arts Centre on September 11.
Musical instruments from the Tantric tradition include horns made from human leg bones, and skull-drums, while the powerful sound of the majestic dungchen or long horns is accompanied by cymbals, bells and drums, offering an opportunity to experience the atmosphere of sacred Tibet and a mysterious ancient culture.
Founded by the first Dalai Lama in 1470, Tashi Lhunpo is one of the most important monasteries in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Re-established in exile in South India, it is one of the major centres of Buddhist learning, best known for its unique tradition of masked dances and sacred music.
The show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £10 and can be booked online at www.wegottickets .com or for more information visit bridgwaterartscentre.co.uk/events
