A TOTAL of 90 acts will strum up a storm at Burnham’s ninth Folkfest this weekend, in the finalised programme of musical merriment and performance from organisers.

A flurry of acoustic music and free activities are set for various town centre venues from Thursday to Sunday, August 28-31.

Dance, workshops, exhibitions, a market, and kids' entertainment is also on offer across Burnham, and all free.

The accomplished Urban Folk Quartet will be in concert fusing folk, dub, house and rock at the Princess Theatre on Friday, August 29.

Dynamic seven piece Inc. A are headlining the Princess Stage on Saturday, August 29, while family band RSVP (above) will bring their rousing Bhangra moves and music to Folkfest in the Park on the Sunday.

Also confirmed are Fromage En Feu, Bill Smarme & The Bizness, The Drystones, The Ceili, Combyne Arvester, The Merry Looters, MOD, The Schmoozenbergs, Brad McEwen, Higher Beings, Jim Crawford, Laura Victoria, Threadbare Ravens, In The Milkwood, Martin Hughes, Benita Johnson, Helen Nicholson, The Winkers, Rustique, Sun Dog Days, Andrew’s Half Sister, Sam Patten, Taylor Topham, Nick Elswood, Debbie Beckett, and Emily Elswood.

A traders market will also attract foodies with its spread of locally-sourced produce in the High Street.

While no camping is available at the event, visitors are encouraged to make use of the hotels, hostels and guest houses available in Burnham.
